There are several misconceptions about veterans after active service, and most of them are harmful. One misconception is how all veterans suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) after service. This leads to the assumption the veterans have violent tendencies and cannot be fully trusted around people. This notion is wrong on many levels, and not all with PTSD are incapable of having a job.

Veterans having no skills fit for a job outside the military is another misconception which affects how many employers think. In today’s competitive working environment, people may look down at veterans as they have no job experiences other than being in the military.  However, this misconception is very untrue as military training makes veterans work intensely under pressure, solve problems efficiently and manage time effortlessly.
